Catch the Aid Wave

Tsunami Compassion Competition Update:Two weeks post-tsunami and the E.U.has announced that it is gearing up to talk about having meetings to plan its coordinated relief effort because "the U.S. has too much of a stronghold [sic] on the whole operation." (ABC News Radio January 7, 2005). Much talk about a "rapid response aid force" and this great quote:
"There are a number of ideas which have been floated," Francoise Le Bail, a spokeswoman for the European Commission, told reporters. "It is important to make sure that the response we make, the proposals we put forward, are the right ones." [italics ours]
