Just when you think things are getting a little dull, a bit routine, something happens.  At least that's true for those who follow politics.  We all know nature abhors a vacuum, but it is also true that politics and especially political egos, hate to see political opportunity go unexploited.  The real fun is when the ego in question seriously misjudges the depth and breadth of the opportunity.

dive2.jpgIt seems that Al Gore is eager to capitalize on the Katrina disaster.  No, he isn't going to rant endlessly about the slow response or the lack of preparedness or even pepper his public speeches with insinuations about plots and conspiracies and dynamite.  No; he's going to ride the Katrina storm surge into the 2008 presidential elections based on the now incontrovertible evidence that there is global warming.  Which, btw, is the worst problem facing the world today.

I can hardly wait.   Pike, gainer, triple somersault with a twist, perfect vertical entry...into the shallow end of the pool.
