Under The Marble Arch
“Seeing what isn’t there is half the job of being on the Left. The other half is changing what isn’t there through costly, intrusive, and ill-conceived initiatives (save 10 percent for keeping Charlie Rangel out of trouble).” -Abe Greenberg, October 9, 2009
Philosopher's Corner

"With their memories of the sixties, when to be young was very heaven, they still believe that an oppositional stance in pursuit of perfection is virtuous in itself—indeed, is the prime or sole content of virtue. And it is this belief that renders them interesting to Hollander, for it makes genuine moral reflection about the nature of various governments and policies impossible. It transforms merely personal discontents into matters of supposedly great general importance."

-Theodore Dalrymple on Paul Hollander: The Only Superpower: Reflections on Strength, Weakness, and Anti-Americanism

Documented: Europeans Lacking Humor Gene

Read Luc van Braekel's blog.  We think it's very gallant for the tiny minority of conservatives to defend our President's honor, but the pictures in question are evidently meant  to be witty, funny, entertaining.  These guys need real humor therapy.

ronald-reagan.jpgLvB is also doing a series on Reaganomics- he's finished Part 1.  It is a very good and substantive overview.  He is fighting the good fight to educate his countrymen about capitalism and is very pro-Reagan.  It's a lonely fight and we do our best to support this beleaguered minority.

'lo Quid. Or should I say, Barbara? I get your point about the humor, but when you have lived almost 4 decades in a country where you are considered filth (literally) when you hold conservative views, one tends to get pissed off.

Thanks for the support though!!!
