Dear Chris...

Thank you.  If it hadn't been for your daring, your courage, your stubbornness, your folly, I wouldn't be here.  Little bits of my genome would be scattered about Spain, Scotland, Germany, Ireland, and among the Mohawk.  That is,  if they didn't dead end in a famine or a plague long ago.

You opened the door to greatness, to bondage and to freedom.  No small amount of luck got me here, providentially, but today I give credit where it's due, to a man who was undaunted.  Sometimes that's all it takes.
