Under The Marble Arch
“Seeing what isn’t there is half the job of being on the Left. The other half is changing what isn’t there through costly, intrusive, and ill-conceived initiatives (save 10 percent for keeping Charlie Rangel out of trouble).” -Abe Greenberg, October 9, 2009
Philosopher's Corner

"With their memories of the sixties, when to be young was very heaven, they still believe that an oppositional stance in pursuit of perfection is virtuous in itself—indeed, is the prime or sole content of virtue. And it is this belief that renders them interesting to Hollander, for it makes genuine moral reflection about the nature of various governments and policies impossible. It transforms merely personal discontents into matters of supposedly great general importance."

-Theodore Dalrymple on Paul Hollander: The Only Superpower: Reflections on Strength, Weakness, and Anti-Americanism

Why Are We Finding This NOW?

The Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth, and of more basic issues such as political and economic justice in society. To that extent, as radical as I think people try to characterize the Warren Court, it wasn’t that radical. It didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution, at least as its been interpreted and Warren Court interpreted in the same way, that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. Says what the states can’t do to you. Says what the Federal government can’t do to you, but doesn’t say what the Federal government or State government must do on your behalf.

It was obvious from "Dreams from My Father" that BO never spent any time with ANYONE who challenged his Marxist worldview.  In fact, he went to great lengths to marinate in the ultra-left echo chambers of the University environments and the streets of Chicago, and, for double rubbers, sharing an office with Bill Ayers and Michael Klonsky

If you listen to the whole thing and change "redistribution" to "reparations", it actually makes more sense.  I think "redistribution" is CODE for reparations.

Of course, in this election, he just lies or changes the language.  "John McCain calls it "socialism", I call it "fairness" or "trickle up economics" or "chocolate cheesecake.""  At this point, he could say anything, he could say, oh, "I, Barack Obama, think that the Constitution needs to be re-written completely.  As it stands, it's a load of crap that doesn't redistribute the wealth"  and people, especially the Watchdogs of the Media, would eat it up.

Oh, yeah.  That is what he said.

One thing that has just amazed me in this election cycle is the utterly willful ignorance on display.

B(H)O is on record stating his intention to raise taxes, increase the size of government, and make this country impotent on the world stage. But, despite their stated opposition to any or all of the above, people are falling over themselves to worship at his altar.

I didn’t think it possible to hold the public in greater contempt.

Watched Megyn Kelly toy and hammer a couple of dhimmis tonight. This character, Michael Brown really gives away the store in his reaction to the Marxist slam. They call us racist and expect to cow us. Look at his reactions when MARXIST is thrown at them. Very much like a flame to Frankenstein's Monster. Urrrrrghhghhhhhaaarrrrrgh!

You can call us socialist but you can't call us Marxist!

MARXIST MARXIST MARXIST........

This tape is pretty incredible, isn't it? And you are right, it does go to show just how much the press is covering for Obama. They'll go all out to investigate Sarah Palin, but do nothing but fawn over Obama.

Remember if it wasn't for Sean Hannity we wouldn't know about Jeremiah Wright or his "Black Liberation Theology". For that matter, it took the National Enquirer to expose John Edwards.

It's journalistic malpractice, that's what.
