Under The Marble Arch
“Seeing what isn’t there is half the job of being on the Left. The other half is changing what isn’t there through costly, intrusive, and ill-conceived initiatives (save 10 percent for keeping Charlie Rangel out of trouble).” -Abe Greenberg, October 9, 2009
Philosopher's Corner

"With their memories of the sixties, when to be young was very heaven, they still believe that an oppositional stance in pursuit of perfection is virtuous in itself—indeed, is the prime or sole content of virtue. And it is this belief that renders them interesting to Hollander, for it makes genuine moral reflection about the nature of various governments and policies impossible. It transforms merely personal discontents into matters of supposedly great general importance."

Call me cynical

I think that it will be better to kill this plan than to improve it.  Speaking of killing, if we don't pass My Big Fat Healthcare Reform,

 MORE AMERICANS WILL DIE!!

Oh, no. Letter from Ted.  He didn't have to ask for the letter to be delivered at the time of his death: he just put it in the mail in April and let the USPS do the rest.

Get the violins: the character of our country.  Doesn't it sound weird to hear BO say nice things about America?

Going on too long about Ted. Most of us don't really care about Ted and we don't care about John (McCain.)

So, because of Ted's experience, he wanted all Americans to have the Senate Insurance plan? Uh, no: he wanted some cheesy, costly, rationing, inefficient plan for us.

Social security did lead to socialism...

Now he's totally lying: he really does believe that government should run everyone's lives. What we eat.  What medical procedures we can get.

Yeah, color me skeptical.  Let's not defer: let's come up with an entirely deficit neutral healthcare reform.  The Amazing Barack is going to pull the flying squirrel out of the hat.

Look! A message in a bottle!

Fan mail from some flounder?

No! HR 3200 has been scuttled! ....

Theodore Cleaver? Have you been daydreaming in my civics class?

Gee, no Mr. Bamapalooza! I was imagining how easy it is to be the President of the United States with all that golf and vacations and apologies and stuff like that.....
