But if it only gets trotted out once every four years for a few campaign spots . . .

The Romney campaign relied on many of the operatives that in 2008 put more emphasis on destroying Sarah Palin than electing John McCain (looking at you Steven J. Schmidt). That they achieved the same outcome (though Ryan came out of it without any tire tracks across his back) is unsurprising. The beaching of 'Project ORCA' just adds a fillip of technological ineptitude to the mix.

The Tea Party types should take note of the electoral victories racked up by the Libertarians. Texas, being so red, gets very few Presidential advertising dollars. I have, however, seen the Steven Crowder parody, which I understand to be an actual reading of Dunham's lines. I know that voting for Obama is being, figuratively, f****d. What disturbs me is that she appears to be trying to say that there are men out there who "really understand and care about women" and these are the guys to whom a young woman should yield up her virginity. Well, there are a few, a very very few. Most are like some of those Ryan Reynolds characters, who'll say anything, because they are very, ahem, goal directed. A guy who "understands and cares" is the one who signed on a line and stood up in church and made a lifetime vow. This notion that marriage oppresses women is just Marxist horse manure, to use a favorite phrase of Deal Hudson, when he was a student, anyway. Marriage is supposed to tame the animal lusts of men. Books have been written about women who go nuts over some guy, because they are "man bites dog" stories. Women usually have better sense. All men are, in our most elemental selves, ready to tumble at any time. We are restrained because there is something to restrain.

As for the idiot Miss Dunham Do what she thinks best, with whomever. She's not my daughter nor my daughter-in-law. But for the love God, don't aid the campaign to deceive young women. Men care about one thing. Redirected, we learn to care about people, too.

Rachel comments on That's Swell

I don't think I would pick Indiana as a birthday trip destination. But there is a lot that I don't know about our fine State. On a recent road trip I took an alternative route home and somewhere south of Lafayette I came upon a tiny town with the name of Romney! A short time later I drove through another town called Americus. I took it as a sign. Grasping, I know.

I felt better when both Michael Barone and Karl Rove predicted a Romney win. Now I'm waiting for Bill Kristol to predict an Obama win and all will be well. Even Lefties were seeing the pattern. He followed a pattern set by Reagan in 1980, in which he was reluctant to criticize Carter about the Iran hostages, stating he did not want to jeopardize anything that we had going. Romney was understated, when, according to Rush et al, everyone who cares, knows, that the O'Boy has made pig shit of it, and nothing Romney said could make anything better or worse. Sure enough, polls today are showing a continuing movement in Romney's direction. People who care about foreign policy know how horrible the O'Boy is, and the Democrats who believe we can surrender our way to victory, would not be deterred or otherwise impressed by any reasonable criticism or alternative strategy from Romney. So, not so bad. We have voted. We continue to pray.

TD comments on Last Debate, Snooze Button Edition

...Fewer horses and bayonets...

Fewer jobs...
Fewer workers...
Fewer entrepreneurs...
Fewer dreams...
Fewer hopes...

Less Is More!
